# Epoching Data
Epoching data is useful as it allows you to explore the data in more ways. It is important to use the following procedure to epoch the data rather then the native EEGLAB method. This method does the exact same thing as the native EEGLAB epoching except it recognizes the new marks structure inside of EEG and will not accidentally remove it.
